What is EMM University?
EMM-U is a week-long immersive experience designed for high school juniors and seniors. The program was originally created by EMM Co-CEO Lloyd Abramowitz to educate his own teenage boys. It is held at the EMM offices in Manhattan in August of every year. EMM-U provides a professional introduction to the field of finance and a look at how wealth management firms like EMM operate.
The program is taught in an interactive manner and students learn about personal finances, investment management and the overall financial markets. Students also learn the basic philosophy and principals of investing, risk management and the importance of client relationships. The sessions are led by EMM's senior partners, associates and a few special guests. Past EMM U "classes" have also had the opportunity to visit a live trading floor, sit in on investment manager conference calls and tour the New York Stock Exchange.
EMM-U is a popular program open to our clients' children and grandchildren. Each year, a few spots are also reserved for students from the Opportunity Network organization. We gear the content to juniors and seniors in high school because we feel that a program like this can help students learn more about themselves and explore their future interests.
Clients interested in more information are encouraged to give us a call. Please note that space is limited and we accept students on a first come, first served basis. For more information or to sign up please contact Randy Kaufman.

“I loved the program very much. The people I met were very helpful and open minded. Hopefully I could come back here again sometime in the future and contribute my work here.”

Talking about money is difficult for many families, and we find that the next generation often lacks financial knowledge. EMM-U is designed to give young adults an understanding of the world of finance and investing.
